I think I have been looking down at the ground too much lately, weeding and laying down mulch, because when I went out yesterday, it was a real shock to see so many trees in bloom.
It is such a joy to see these blossoms of a flowering plum against a pure blue sky.
When spring comes round, our apple tree
Is very full of flowers,
And when a bird sits on a branch
This is not, in fact, an apple tree |
The petals fall in showers.
- Edmund Spenser, Faerie Queene
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

What beautiful blossoms and you are blessed to have them growing in your gardens.
ReplyDeleteI love that quote.
Have a lovely day ~ FlowerLady
Thank you, FlowerLady, for your nice comment. I hope you have a great day too.
ReplyDeleteMasha, thanks for sharing such beautiful images with us today. Your blooms give me hope on this dreary day that mine are on the way. I love the poem, too. Emily Dickinson is one of my favorite poets. Carla
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carla, and I am so glad you liked the pictures. I like Emily Dickinson a lot too.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see trees in bloom. We're going to have to wait six weeks or so before that happens around here. Thanks for reminding me that spring will come.
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome, George! I agree, trees in blooms are a wonderful sight, and so fleeting...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing them blooming over here... Unfortunately we'll have to wait a little longer!
ReplyDeleteAbout Sesbania, I donnot know if I had to answer it directly from my blog or yours, but anyway be careful, it is ok for Mediterranean climate if temperature does not reach 0°C.
I hope you will find a green house that sells it.
Good luck and let me know !
Thks again for your visit
Gabriel
Gabriel, thank you and I don't think it matters where you answer:-), not to me anyway. We rarely have temperatures dipping below 0C, only a few nights a year. Usually people just cover up their tender plants with blankets overnight and they do fine. There are a lot of jacaranda trees around here, even though it is supposed to be too cold for them, so who knows maybe it will live if I can find it...
ReplyDeleteI needed a lift today, and your beautiful pictures provided that. Oh, just to have warm enough weather to weed and mulch! Thanks for the hope that spring *will* come!
ReplyDeleteThank you, HolleyGarden, and I am so happy I cheered you up a little. This is why I took those pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Olga, so nice of you to stop by.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I can't wait until our trees start to bloom. I'm so tired of winter. Hopefully we only have a month left.
ReplyDeleteVery Japanese, Masha... cherry blossoms, fleeting beauty, transience of nature and all that. Makes me want to write a haiku:

ReplyDeleteThank you, Phillip. Take heart, spring is coming, I know that for sure now...
ReplyDeleteThank you, thibaud, and how wonderful to meet someone who writes poetry.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donna, and I am really happy you came to my blog.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are stunning once again ! So beautiful !
ReplyDeleteMerci, Isabelle, pour voir mes photos. Vos compliments sont toujours apprecies.
ReplyDeleteThose frilly pink plum blossoms against the blue sky are so lovely. What is the white-flowered tree? A Hawthorn?
ReplyDeleteSweetbay, I am not entirely sure, but I think it might be a flowering pear.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Masha! They will feed my own daydreams of spring, which will not be here for another 2 months!
ReplyDeleteSandra
Thank you, Sandra, and hang on, spring will come!
