Purple Pavement (H. Rugosa, Baum, 1983) |
I have been busy lately and unable to spend much time in the blogosphere... However, photography at least has not been neglected: my birthday is coming up and a new lens has arrived in the mail. So here are some pictures I took while trying it out. I hope you enjoy them:).
My new lens is a 55-200mm, so I can finally shoot birds...
... even when they in a tree!
I can shoot roses on a fence without having to drag a ladder (whew...).
|
Elie Beauvilain (Noisette, Beauvilain, 1887) |
I finally can get close to the roses on an arbor too.
|
Golden Celebration (Shrub, Austin, 1992) |
And I can shoot blooms inside a big prickly climber without sticking my head inside and risking getting impaled:)
|
Crown Princess Margareta (Shrub, Austin, 1991) |
It seems that my life will be much easier now:)
You are really enjoying your new long distance shooting. Especially the birds. Beautiful photography. Congrats on your new lens and a big happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Masha (happy birthday!) that first one of the Blue-jay, especially, are very eye-catching!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Daphne, I loved that picture too.
Happy Birthday! I never realized what dangers you faced trying to get those awesome photos. Glad you got a great lens. Your photos are now even more amazing!
ReplyDeleteMasha, Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteYour zoom is wonderful. The bird photos are sharp and detailed. Beautiful!
Haha! You actually use the ladders before you have these lens? :)
Thank you, HolleyGarden. My camera didn't have any zoom, so I always had to get really close to what I was shooting - I got scratched all the time:)
ReplyDeleteOne, thank you. Yes, I did have to use ladders - how crazy can one get to shoot a good picture...
Masha, Happy Birthday !!!
ReplyDeleteYour roses and birds are wonderful! The pictures are delightful !

Stunning photos as always. The new lens is outstanding. I really need to invest in some better lenses myself. I love the golden roses against the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteThank so much for your compliments and birthday wishes, what could be better than such nice messages from friends! You warm my heart.
ReplyDeletePhillip, so far I have been buying the cheapest of the good (does this make sense?). The 55-200 is the cheapest telephoto zoom out there, and it works well as a macro too as you see. It is a slow lens, but one can't have everything for $200. At least roses don't run away as I take pictures, so I was willing to compromise...
Your photos are clear and very good. I really envy you. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Autumn Belle and Christine! I am so glad you liked the pictures - looks like I got a good birthday present:).
ReplyDeleteYour new lens works great! Happy birthday from Italy, dear Masha! :x

ReplyDeleteVery pretty photo's - can't get much better than birdies and roses! xoox, tracie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Fishtail Cottage. You are right, birds and roses, what more could one want:)?
ReplyDeletewow those are great pics...I need a camera that is not point and shoot...love your new lens

ReplyDeleteThank you, Jerome, and nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI've been admiring your garden for months now. If you're ever down in "The OC" please visit me at the abbey...and I'll give you a tour of the gardens.
ReplyDeleteDear Jerome, thank you for your compliments. What is the OC area? There is no way for me to contact you, and your blogger profile is not accessible...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got a new lens! Well worth it, especially when you are making such beautiful art with it :)
ReplyDeleteYour shot of Crown P. M. is just stunning! I so look forward to our someday moving on to a new home so I have some room for Austen roses!!!
Julie
Thank you, Julie. I found you can always fit more roses in your garden however crowded it already is:).
