Autumn has come before I knew it.
The light has become softer and taking pictures is now easier.
I managed to spend a whole two hours photographing at the Heritage today, and here are some last roses of the season.
Most roses grow large by the end of the season. Long canes are waving in the wind waiting to be pruned or tied down. All photos from the Heritage |

What lovely photos ! It just makes me want to squeeze every last drop of pleasure out of these late blooms ! My roses are still blooming as if it were summer - no one has told them yet that it is Autumn ...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, as always !
ReplyDeleteMasha, Amatsu-Otome is stunning! Your roses are still in bloom, my only one is blooming Grootendorst. It isn't afraid og snow and cold. Great photos, you not in vain spent two hours!
ReplyDeleteRuusun kukat herkkiä pehmeitä, kauniit varjot. Punaiset marjat luovat vaikutelman ilosta

Really nice, Masha! Aren't those long canes just crazy? They look like alien antennae or something. In my own garden they provide a great excuse to cut flowers for a vase, because the overall effect of a few roses on the end of a very tall shoot isn't pleasing.
ReplyDeleteHi Masha, it certainly is nice to see some pics of roses from the Heritage Rose Garden in autumn. 'Rubens' especially has made its way into my heart! Autumn has definitely reached San Diego, too, and we had some rain yesterday and today already but a few roses are still going strong.

Wonderful photos, I especially like/covet 'September Morn' and 'Rubens'. After weeks of harsh weather only a few forlorn specimens remain in my garden.
