I finally found some time today for a trip to the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden.
I realized with dismay that my previous visit there was in March, so I was really really happy to see the collection again, with so many roses in full late summer flush. Here is the tour and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The light is so pretty and the Roses are stunning! It's fun to see those healthy Rose hips. Thanks for sharing, Masha!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous roses, and such lovely images. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWOW ~ What a glorious selection of roses. How wonderful to be able to see all of them for real. I bet the scents were something else. I loved that chestnut hip.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and thanks for sharing ~ FlowerLady
So many delightful roses Masha! Thank you for the tour I enjoyed it very much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Masha, nice tour. I especially appreciate that these roses look like mine; past their prime, beat up by the summer heat!
ReplyDeleteReally? There is quite a bit of mildew and a burned leaf here and there, but otherwise they actually look pretty good to me. No fried blooms certainly. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
DeleteI see the fresh side here. My Black Prince rose has to be picked as soon as the bud starts to open. A little afternoon sun, and he is literally TOAST!
DeleteAlways so bezutiful are your roses Masha, congratulations, they look like vrey happy in your garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful display of roses! And great photography! I remember visiting a rose garden in San Jose some 47 years ago, but it may not have been the Heritage Rose Garden. The one I visited was near the Egyptian Museum. I was just a young college student then, but I do remember being impressed by all the roses.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so very pretty Masha, lovely when you see so many all grouped together. Great photos as always.
ReplyDeleteHi Masha, I am glad that you got to visit the Heritage Rose Garden, again and thanks for sharing the photos of it with us here on your blog! It is always such a pleasure for me to see glimpses of this unique rose collection with so many old and rare roses varieties. I really like 'Lilac Dawn', a rose that I haven't heard of, yet. I am also quite faszinated by the rosa roxburghii hip. I don't recall seeing a rose hip like this either.
ReplyDeleteHope you own roses are also having a great late summer flush and that you are enjoying your garden!
Warm regards,
Christina
