A Day Among Grape Vines

I will remember the day we spent among the vines of Paso Robles as one of the most peaceful, relaxing and happy I have had in a long time.

There was something soothing in geometric rows of grapes stretching all the way to the horizon (and beyond)...,

...and in the stillness of the air filled with the fragrance of lavender.

Most wineries in Paso Robles are small, and the wine is not cheap, but what we have sampled was very good, and the view of never-ending gentle hills was in itself worth spending money on. Winery buildings too have their own unique character, ranging from simple rustic houses....

... to almost space-age modernistic structures, airy and graceful, and still with a beautiful view.

There were lots of shady picnic areas where we could sit and rest our sore feet...

...and we got some delicious wine to take home with us too.

What else could one wish for?

  1. Hi Masha, thanks for your kind comments on my pages, I wish my pictures were leastwise a bit so good as yours, but I don't think it is posssible with my current camera... My sentiment is exactly as yours when seeing vineyard or orchard, so much of peace and beauty in one place, rising from hard human's labour, giving the most pleasing fruits...

  2. The grape vines make a beautiful landscape and your images are superb. Even the magazine quality bottle photo. You should get into selling your talent.

The architecture is pretty amazing too, both the grand and the not so grand.

  3. Jana, I liked your pictures a lot. It is not the camera, but the photographer's vision that is interesting to me. Thank you for your compliments.

Donna, thank you for such wonderful compliments. Maybe one day I will figure out how to get some money out of this...

  6. What a beautiful place! And such views! I could sit there forever - and a glass of wine to enjoy along with all that beauty sounds wonderful. Loved the pic of the rows of grapes. Not something you see many places.

  7. Liked the Mediterranean feel of the gardens. Especially the modernistic garden. It just feels Greek or Italian! I wish I new some of the language to leave a comment in Italian.

Yes I like the simplistic look of the blog page also. Less is more. :o

Greggo, that's OK, if you'd left a comment in Italian, I would not have understood and enjoyed it :)
